Jose Mourinho planning surprise swoop for Tottenham attacker – club ready to listen to offers

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has emerged as a potential transfer target for AS Roma, according to Italian publication Il Romanista.

The report claims that former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is interested in signing the Brazilian forward.

Richarlison’s debut season with Tottenham has been far from impressive since his big-money move from Everton last summer. He has managed to find the back of the net just once in the Premier League and three times across all competitions.

Struggling to establish himself as a regular starter, Richarlison has found himself behind the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and Harry Kane in the pecking order.

This, combined with the club’s underwhelming performances, has fueled speculation that Spurs may be willing to offload the player during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is suggested in the report that in order to avoid the devaluation of the player’s value following his lackluster season and to provide him with an opportunity to rediscover his best form, a potential move to AS Roma on loan with an obligation to buy clause.

It was reported last week that Spurs are ready to listen to offers for the former Everton man with Real Madrid and Inter Milan both having shown interest in him. And now with AS Roma in the mix as well, it is interesting to see where his future lies.

Of course, it is still possible that the he ends up staying at the club, specially if Harry Kane is to leave in the summer.

A lot will also depend on Daniel Levy appoints as their next manager and whether Richarlison is someone who is part of his plans or not.
