Jose Mourinho forwards the name of quality player he wants to sign to the Tottenham board

By Bruce Grove -

Jose Mourinho has asked Tottenham to make a move for Gabriel Magalhaes this summer as he looks to bolster his defensive options, claims Spanish website Fichajes.

The Portuguese manager became Spurs’ boss midway through this season, and after Mauricio Pochettino led them to the Champions League final last season, he must feel that he needs to win something with this team as soon as he can.

The former Manchester United boss could lose the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth in the next transfer window and he will want reinforcements.

Fichajes claims that he has forwarded the name of Gabriel to the Spurs board and has asked them to make the move happen.

Gabriel has been attracting the attention of several English and European sides this season after he emerged as one of the leading defenders in France for Lille.

His fine performances saw him get rewarded with a new deal earlier in the year, but that won’t stop Lille from cashing in on him.

The French side signed him for just three million euros and the report adds that Lille is expecting to sell him for at least ten times that amount.

Spurs would want to limit their summer spending after suffering some financial losses due to Covid19, however, they would have to splash the cash is they are to give Mourinho what he wants.

It’s a real pity we can’t spot these players ourselves. Instead we get Jack Clark.
