Japhet Tanganga: The best thing to come out of Hackney since the M11

By The Boy -

All or Nothing

One shining light in the All or Nothing series or the Mourinho Show as it has become known, is Japhet Tanganga. It’d difficult to imagine a more likeable or technically gifted graduate for the fans to get behind. Propelled into the squad because of an injury wildfire, it seems impossible to imagine that Tottenham’s 21-year-old will do anything other than be a long term success.

The Hackney born boy is clearly grounded, with decent family values, with both his mother and his father having brought him up the right way. Japhet’s debut for Spurs came against an unstoppable Liverpool side and was the stage to a performance of true grit. One fan said of the lad afterwards, “Tanganga might actually be Jose’s Varane 2.0”.

All these fly on the wall documentaries are staged to a certain degree, but watching Japhet, there is an authenticity about him which is frankly refreshing.

He seems like a genuinely humble person. One refreshing aspect is his clear gratitude for what he has in life. Truly he is a credit to his parents and the club.

Who has she “spotted” thus far? Serious question.

I’m sure he is the boy who looked so good in the friendlies last year and then kicked on (as opposed to fading away like most).

Well done Japh

Donna is the brains behind our scouting network. She said others will hopefully make it but this boy certainly will.
She knows how to spot a player.

If he keeps away from Danny Rose he should stay focused.

I see him sitting in front of a back three. Covering both sides (leaning over) when the wing backs fly forward.

Similar qualities to Harry Kane, One can only presume that most of his Academy team mates must be phoning it in each week, since so few of them break into our first team starting lineup. With those attributes young Japhet has no excuse for not doing well in his career.

I presume after signing his new contract he will be have been given the guarantee to play at centrehalf his prefared position the same with Dier. With Toby and Sanchez as well is signing another CB nessary even if Foyth gets sold.

Probably at a bigger club with more ambition. My guess would be as a CB.

Love Japhet T. The kid seems humble, determined and not without a huge bundle of talent.

The M11 doesn’t come out of Hackney.
