“I’ve not seen anything of him,” Manager responds to links with Spurs man

By Bruce Grove -

Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock appears to have squashed rumours that his team will be landing Jack Clarke on loan this month.

The Tottenham winger is tipped to leave the club in this transfer window as he looks for first-team football to further his development.

Spurs didn’t allow him to leave the club in the summer, as they hoped he would get even better by training with the likes of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale.

This month offers him the chance to join another team and play more regular football, and the Championship is one of the best places that he can do that.

Middlesbrough was linked with a move for him, but when asked about the rumours Warnock says that it isn’t true because he is only looking to sign experienced players for his team.

“I don’t want to be disrespectful to Jack, and I’m sure he’s a very good player, but I’ve not seen anything of him,” said Warnock as quoted by the Northern Echo

“The type I’m looking at are players who are probably going to come straight into the team and make a difference.

“The recruitment guys have given us names abroad, but I don’t think really it’s the time to be going abroad either. If we can get one in from over here (that would be great), maybe two depending on whether we might have the odd one leaving. I could maybe do a swap deal to bring someone in, I might consider that as well. You just don’t know in the window.”

Boro isn’t the only side looking to sign Clarke and Spurs will continue to look for a team where he would be guaranteed playing time after he struggled on loan at Leeds and QPR previously.
