“It would be a massive investment” Michael Owen casts doubt over one potential Tottenham transfer – video

By The Boy -

More speculation, this time from Michael Owen who actually makes a decent point or two for a change. Harry Kane’s much-discussed remaining years at Tottenham see the boy at somewhat of a crossroads.

There are all the positives; the huge goal and assist tally, the fact he’s English etc. Then there are the negatives, which are his age and his injury record. Additionally, Owen wonders about Harry’s desire to win trophies. Could that happen at Spurs, whilst he still has the legs for it?

Tottenham would understandably want a lot of money for Kane, and weighing up all the facts may not be as easy as some might think.

It’s not madness. It’s his job to get the best price he can for any players he sells. The way some people go on here, it’s as if they think he should just accept whatever anyone offers for one of our players and pay whatever a rival club asks for theirs.

Whilst Enic don’t really invest though they do use transfer fees to buy players, but youve a wage bill to balance with that, so need a few more exits if I heard muted the average Premier league wage is 70k per week

Finances of football at present I think Pep will sign an extension, he’ll struggle to build a squad at other big teams.

Levy will have a choice to make, accept he won’t get what he feels Kane is worth or try to convince him to stay. The problem there is he will be older with possibly more injuries behind him.

My feeling is Levy will cash in on Kane or Son this summer, although it’s unlikely to be both. How that would affect the other is debatable, but if the fee is not reinvested in the squad that won’t bode well for Levy.We certainly don’t want a poundland splurge like with the Bale money.

i would also suspect Pep may feel Kane isn’t a player you can rotate to get the best out of him (he has to play himself into form) and would he want someone you risk breaking down because his performance drops if you swap him out.

Without CL qualification and silverware this season I doubt Kane will stick around or Sonny. Unless Levy can convince him that he will be able to play NFL in the new latrine and win lots of silverware doing that if he hangs around.:)

I said few days back is it more likely he will stay cos hes 28 in a few months and the peak years are probably just about over. 100/200 mill or whatever madness Levy demands for 2 years of close to peak Kane?? Maybe not worth the fuss. He may do a Le Tissier.
