It is now silly season time for the media and Tottenham

We are coming up to that point in the season when it becomes a silly time for the media and they are not disappointing us.

You see, it is generally around about March, which is just eight days away, that the media step up a gear with their early summer gossip and speculation.

Not for every team but certainly for most and Tottenham fall into that bracket.

Why? Because we cannot win the title and are on course for a mediocre season against what was expected.

The media will start linking everyone and their uncle with a move to the club and some will be utterly ridiculous, Alexandre Lacazette (Teamtalk) being one prime example.

There will be endless gossip and speculation over the future of Jose Mourinho with Brendan Rodgers (Football Insider) now being touted as his potential replacement in the summer.

If Spurs were right in the middle of the title race then most of this rubbish would not see the light of day but that is how the media works, a successful team is largely left alone, teams struggling are targeted and sadly, Tottenham will be one of their prime targets from now until the summer.

The Mourinho gossip will go into overdrive, that I assure you, so will Harry Kane’s and possibly Son Heung-min’s future.

We will be linked with all sort of players and the transfer budget will probably range from anything between £10-£200miliion.

It is now here, silly season, so strap yourselves in, it is going to be a rollercoaster of a ride.

I agree. At the start of the season I was convinced 3-4-3 was going to be the way forward, with Reggi and Dogherty as wing backs and Kane Son Bale up on top.
It might have worked, had Bale worked out – which he has failed to. Dramatically. I just don’t see Bergwijn as filling that 3rd forward spot.
So that leaves a back 4. Regillon can play (when not injured) as a conventional left back, but Dogherty is useless as a right full back. Aurier is proving he can play in that roll and push forward and put crosses in, in much the same way as Tripps did. 4231. Needs to pick his best defence and stop tinkering.

Though I can’t disagree with the above, I’d still bet a sizable chunk (were it provable and were I a gambler) on Danny boy having already identified a replacement should the unthinkable happen.

Let’s be real, neither you nor I know what would result in “more cash for the bookmakers” without seeing their books. When bookies get it right, they balance odds to volume on each side to insure that they’re essentially hedged against any result and still stand to profit through various fees and rake-offs. Similar to market traders hedging share positions via options.

Won’t be at all surprised to see Chelsea lose today….more cash for the bookmakers. Will they open in time for Cheltenham? Won’t surprise me either🏦💰

I have been super critical of mourinho but it seems like he’s finally seen that 4231 is our best formation. We’ve been playing with a more even balance of attack and defence minded players. Definitely seen some green shoots in recent weeks – beating West Ham tomorrow is a must!

Good stuff. Stand above worthless made up nonsense. Do not search for it and certainly do not publicise it if you see it.
