“is one to watch” – Journalist names ‘extraordinary’ World Cup star as the player Spurs are in advanced talks with

Tottenham Hotspur fans should keep an eye out for a possible move for Weston McKennie, according to Ben Jacobs.

The Juventus midfielder has received significant attention from Spurs over the last few transfer windows. He is once again being linked with a move to Spurs with reports suggesting that Spurs are set to face competition from Liverpool for his signature.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool will keep an eye out for loan signings such as McKennie in January.

In response to a fan question about whether Spurs are in advance talks with any player yet, Ben Jacobs mentioned the American as “one to watch,” along with Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni.

He said: “McKennie is one to watch. Spurs would love Bastoni as well but it’s not an easy deal to pull off as they found last summer.”

McKennie has previously been described as “extraordinary,” and he is well-liked in both Italy and the United States.

Fabio Paratici is also said to ‘adore’ McKennie according to Alasdair Gold, who has previously stated that he will not be surprised to see Spurs make a move for the player. He said:

“You’ll have heard me say this way back in videos a year ago, Fabio Paratici adores Weston McKennie. He brought him to Juventus from Schalke. Honestly, he thinks he’s a superstar.”

“I wouldn’t rule out Tottenham continuing to look at him. He’s a good player, got a great engine. Box to box, very versatile as well.

“Keep an eye on that one is probably the best thing I’d say about that. Paratici will keep pushing his merits constantly.”

It would be surprising if Spurs prioritised him over other signings, given that they have plenty of options in this position, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Oliver Skipp, and Yves Bissouma.

Some of the main positions that need addressing are a centre-back, a right wing-back, and of course an attacking midfielder to add the much-needed creativity to the team. They could also do with another attacker given the injury concerns of Richarlison and Kulusevski this season.
