Inter Fan Sends Spurs Fans A Stark Warning About Mourinho

By The Boy -

José Mourinho was low-key after last night’s game and one can’t help but believe that this is somewhat of a performance (when is not playing to the camera?) designed to keep fan expectations in check.

Of course, there is the reality of our Europa League future. The best teams have yet to join the competition, and this is merely the weeding out process that we’re watching.

Now I don’t have any purchase in the ‘enjoy the ride’ world, and I don’t want any. Yet it is great to see Spurs actually progressing in competitions, opposed to having to wade through explanations as to why it doesn’t matter if you lose. I take a view that it expends far more energy to run around for 90minutes and lose a game than it does to win…

The quote above from an Inter fan was left under the post presser video, and it’s well worth your consideration. We mustn’t side with the lazy losers. We mustn’t be afraid to become electrified.

Enjoy.

At least he aimed high and dated the stunner.

You’d rather he took the easy way out and shagged some slapper down a back alley… classy. 😂

Wined her and dined her, got her home and couldn’t raise a gallop. Ended up sitting on the end of the bed with his head in his hands.

We will just have to wait and see. I’ve not been impressed with what I’ve seen so far of us under Jose but with the new signings and a freshen up things might be better this season.

I only base it on what I’ve seen, any team with Bale, Regulon, Sonny and an in form Dele and Tanguy surely has to play some nice bits. Whoever the manager is?

Spot on comment from the Inter fan. It’s the difference between a winner’s and a loser’s mentality.

Once the backs “locked off” you’ll see great fast attacking football man. Trust me

In terms of ‘entertainment factor’ Liverpool won the title in the wrong season you’d have to say – they played more easy on the eye attacking football two or three seasons ago.

Check the 2019/20 season results in the league – they were usually winning by just the one goal, not many 4-1’ers in there. It was methodical, often pretty dreadful fare for the ‘neutral’ to watch. Real effective.

The secret with Mou is that he’s always been backed at every club he managed. He’s a cheque book manager that is used to buying success. If Levy backs him fully and provides 2 decent players for every place then we have a good chance of winning something. If not then it’ll simply be more of the same – Levy employing top managers and coaches, paying them to succeed but not supporting them properly in the transfer market, then blaming the manager and sacking him.
Even a top manager doesn’t guarantee trophies as there aren’t many to go around, Poch proved that, there is only so much they can do with the tools at their disposal. In the last few seasons our bench was so bad we always ran out of steam near the end of the campaign. There’s no guarantee that Mou will win us trophies either, football isn’t like that, but if he’s backed fully we’ve got a better chance than ever, especially now Liverpool are out of the league cup.
Ironically our last trophy was won by one of the worst managers we’ve ever had!

I think ‘long term’ you might have a point – but right now if we play just one dull slog of a match then everyone is straight into ‘the sky is falling’ mode.

I think that is a very ‘Spurs fan’ thing, other fans can take an occasional snore fest without that reaction. Also it’s a Jose thing – despite Chelsesa and Madrid sides in particular often playing something approaching total football and very entertaining his reputation is all based on when he tactically strangles matches to death.

Liverpool played some incredibly patchy football last season, frequently bored me to tears, but they weren’t calling for Klopp’s resignation…they knew next week it could be the opposite and often it was.

What this proves is, that it’s all about backing the manager.

Levy must have changed his spots to give you free range inside the new shopping mall to broadcast your blogs👍😂Great to see the blogs back HH. Couldn’t agree more with you. The Mourinho effect has been more behind the scenes rather than on the pitch although I am beginning to see some indications that players are now realising that every time they put that shirt on they have to give everything or they will be out. The really interesting aspect of all this is the Jose effect on Levy. When Levy ousted the “berry appy man and his motley crew” he stated that there were only two world class coaches and Mourinho was one. I guess Pep being the other? If he removes Mourinho then he can only go backwards. That added to the impact of the pandemic on stadium revenues and cash flows has squeezed the little emperor and Uncle Joe in taking much needed and long overdue action in refreshing the squad. Let’s not get to carried away though as it is still being done on a shoestring compared with some of the clubs above us.The Bale signing was a move to garner support for Levy from the fan base when Levys popularity ratings were falling faster than Boris Johnson’s and as you stated a mega merchandising opportunity for THFC. Indeed it may be the way of locking Bale in long term when the loan deal expires with a share of that revenue. I do sense however that Levy believes he has brought in the Rolls Royce of coaches and he is to a degree in awe of Mourinho and the branding opportunities he also brings along with Bale. Look at the media coverage we have been getting since Mourinho and now Bale have joined. It also negates the impact of not being in the CL and also attracts quality players to the club without CL football. Pooch never won anything and he was the perfect patsy for ENIC whilst they were building the real estate portfolio and Pooch was delivering top four slots. Once that stopped and the slide began it became a certainty the axe would fall swiftly. After the window has closed and Bale is back in the squad then we shall see how things progress. I still feel we are vulnerable at CB and for DM cover. The potential new striker from Portugal I know little about other than he is a target man like Llorente but younger with more legs. We shall see. Great blog again H.

Liverpool and Citeh are dominant and play very nice football because their coaches are backed.

Regardless of the style of play, being backed is essential. As far as playing less attractive and pragmatic football equals success, it just doesn’t hold up as a theory anymore.

I think fans will have every right to complain about being bored out of their minds with our ticket prices, if the manager is backed he should be able to win and win with flair.

Others do it so why not?

Jose did what he did at Inter with a lot of backing, if Levy backs him then he could do very well.

Will Levy still back him if he hasn’t got us where he expects? These are early days and the extent of Levy’s backing long term is anyone’s guess…

Was that meant for me? I want my club to win and win with style. So long as Norwich don’t come to the new place and turn us over again I’ll be a lot happier…

Enjoyed the video H, I feel like I’m slowly shedding the last of the excuses/rationalising of Spurs being ‘good but not good enough’

I think the last stand of that mentality you’ll see around the supporters will be the ‘we’re not playing the Spurs way’ crowd who will jump on average performances in terms of ‘entertainment level’ – as it’s often going to be in direct conflict with the ‘play like c’nts if you need to to win’ philosophy.

We have enough easy on the eye ‘entertainers’ in the squad to keep the football enjoyable as well as successful, hopeful again for this season with the last signings we needed being finalised and the team starting to go through the gears.

‘don’t take the side of the lazy players’

we’re in a good position because the biggest wage earners – Kane, Son, Bale, Toby..they’re not lazy, we have no Pogba to contend with, esp with Ndombele turning it around and Alli totally humbled and probably out the door

What Mourinho does is he gets into the minds of players and tests their character to see if they are winners or losers, he digs deep and gets a response that proves to him they are one or the other. Most modern day attitudes and methods in all walks of life, are very different from previous generations, from schooling to the workplace which includes sportsmen and women, society has been changed to think differently. I agree with the way Mourinho has taken on the weak minded culture this club has been suffering from for so long, it desperately needed to change. Of course, there will always be winners and losers in life no matter what character , but the mental strength is what has been the issue at this club, which at last is now being addressed.

Spot on!! Whilst the Everton game was disappointing, there is already an obvious improvement in play and as the new signings bed in an become more of a factor we can only get even better!!

A winning manager brings a winning mentality, that’s what was missing previously. Also, just look at the quality of the players who WANT to join now. That’s what a world class winning manager can do for you. Now let’s go wins some trophies!!!!

Spurs haven’t produced the best football yet but there are promising signs from individuals that this is going to be a big season, competition for places all round, and a much stronger bench than ever.
