According to Football Insider, Spurs are set to accept a reduced offer for Giovani Lo Celso.
The midfielder was transfer listed in the summer after becoming surplus to Conte’s requirements and rejoined Villareal on loan where he had previously spent a spell on loan as well. He was very impressive under Unai Emery playing a key role in their Champions League run last season. The most notable performance came during their 1-0 win against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals where has was named the man of the match.
The impressive spell with the La Liga side attracted plenty of interest in the summer but clubs were put off by Tottenham’s asking price for the midfielder.
But Spurs now want to get rid off him for good now and are ready to accept losses on him. Football Insider believes that ‘an offer of around £18million could be accepted’ by Daniel Levy which will be more than double of what they signed him for (£55.3m).
The midfielder will not be short of suitors. The likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and Villareal will all be potentially interested in signing him on a permanent deal. Aston Villa could be yet another likely destination with Unai Emery now in charge. He could perhaps want to reunite with the 26-year-old under whom he really flourished last season.
Regardless of where he ends up, one thing is certain: his time at Spurs has come to an end, with the club planning to use the proceeds from his sale to sign new players in January.
