In My View… That Was A Tough Win For Fans That Might Be More At Home Watching Opera, Opposed To Football

By The Boy -

Losing becomes habit forming, and this all stems back to the old ‘flee or fight’ business that goes on inside humans when the adrenalin gets going. In an ideal world, Spurs would win every game 9-0 with three players securing memorable hat tricks. Alas, the world doesn’t work like that, and as I am very fond of saying, ‘where there are humans, there will 100% be human error’.

Tolerating, but seeking to refine or minimise those errors leads to winning more frequently. Excusing errors actively encourages losing. That’s my belief.

The first half was like watching Royal Antwerp Part II, however, it told us plenty about the game when Mourinho slipped down the tunnel at half time that making drastic change clearly wasn’t on his mind. It took until the 64th minute for José to make his move, and that was prompted by Tanguy Ndombele’s discombobulated pinky toe. Giovani Lo Celso came one and admittedly added some zip to our transitions.

This game was frequently tough to watch, but such is the life of a football fan. As Harry Kane said after the game, “…they defended for their lives”. If you want to be faultlessly entertained, then football is the wrong thing for you to be staring at. Opera is far more reliable. Plácido Domingo’s La Traviata is always an exceptional way to kill a few hours.

Tottenham currently top the Premier League table.

Is it not possible to like Mourinho without taking a shit on Poch? Mourinho is a step up, but Poch did amazing things for us with both hands tied behind his back! There will always be the what if they backed him question

I’m so hoping Ron can see the next move while winning the ball then get it there quickly and accurately. Ron& Reggi 🌚

We didn’t play well yet they couldn’t break us down. This is a good clean sheet.

There is a fine line between success and failure. We have been on the right side of this line this season and to be fair these wins have been deserved. We also deserved more out of the Newcastle and West Spam games. For 18 months we won games like this with Poch, it wasn’t all joyous football. We tripped our way to top 4 and a achieve Lg final for heaven’s sake.
Lo Celso coming on was welcomed, but it was the Sissoko substitution I was happier with, he was stinking the place out. The man needs 3 touches to be in control of the ball. He might well be a hit in the changing room, so would Rihanna in a bikini, but I need more from a player on the pitch, especially against teams who defend forever. There are no need for ifs, buts and maybes today, but I can imagine Jose wants 2 good halves, instead of what we had today. Top 4, chance of a cup semi and we can still do better. Who wouldn’t take that?

What’s the point, all you’ll get is “net spends” from the old place. And “the manager wasn’t backed” yet they’re not backing the manager now

“he cried for us😂😂. When Bayern were running us raggid he looked pathetic. Had my binoculars. I’ll never forget the look on his face. I remember the Bayern emotion more than the final. I was at the lane for that too on the trons. Strange atmosphere that was.

True, Leicester have just pulled off a similar trick to climb to the top spot.

Its certainly is. Winning at all costs can be a dirty affair but winning is winning even without the cherry on top.

First half we were poor but fair play to Jose he did get them more positive for the second half.

If we’d played the 2nd half out like the first then imo you’re calling on lady luck to win which again is something you can occasionally rely on, but not over a whole season, and not consistently against the lower sides in the league without a little disgruntlement starting to foster.

Still early days, I have faith in the manager and the squad.

Last international break threw us off stride a bit, hopefully we come back with a bit of a swagger (befitting a side nestled in the top 4) again after this one.

& no doubt you’ll soon have the José haters on here, bleating about how he has THFC playing now & football under Mauricio was better to watch, etc, yawn, etc.
