‘In front of everybody’ Richarlison opens up on how he was treated by Antonio Conte

Richarlison has spoken to a fellow countryman about his struggles at Tottenham.

You can use the subtitles/closed captions, but we’ve translated a few lines here for you.

In respect of Antonio Conte, it appears that the Italian was at his wits end with a player that the club had spent a record amount of money on, but couldn’t deliver.

“Had a couple of issues with Conte due to not having a streak of playing time. We resolved this in the locker room. I made a mistake in doing an interview saying I needed time. Later on, I apologized and said that he could punish me. He told me off to show he was the commandant. It’s his way to deal with it. Almost two hours scolding me in front of everybody there.”

HH Says: As a fanbase, we’ve noticeably adopted an approach in recent weeks whereby people are describing what they would like to see, and what they expect. Also, a lot of credence has been given to excuses, based upon not liking certain coaches.

The truth is, Daniel Levy recruited Mourinho and Conte, they didn’t break in. Also, these serial winner coaches have only failed at Tottenham. For every other side they managed, they achieved success. Perhaps Richarlison needs to simply get his act together and just start slotting the goals away, as a striker with this price tag ought to.

For Brazil, he’s been exciting, for club sides, it’s not been vaguely the same story. Excuses are excuses. Harry Kane’s career has been excuse free, he’s just kept on improving.

Conte may be a ‘nasty man’ to some, I don’t care, I want goals, I want results. With no European football and a supposedly chummy coach, now is the season to stop talking about it and deliver!
