‘I’d be stunned if that doesn’t happen…’: Alasdair Gold makes exciting prediction that will delight Spurs fans

By Mehdi Gokal -

Antonio Conte is expected to sign a new contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur, according to journalist Alasdair Gold.

As things currently stand, Conte’s current contract will expire in June 2023 if he does not reach an agreement with Daniel Levy.

Many Spurs fans will be concerned, especially considering the job he has done so far with Tottenham, which includes leading the club to a top-four finish last season.

However, in what will likely come as welcoming news to many fans, Gold has stated that he would be surprised if Conte fails to reach an agreement on a contract extension with the club in the near future.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, he said:

“Obviously, we know there’s the option for both him and Spurs to agree to continue, to chuck another year on his contract.

“Which I’d be stunned if that doesn’t happen because I think Spurs will want it at this stage. Also to kind of stop any questions as this season goes on about him. But also for Conte, it’s a little bit more financial security.”

Conte is a serial winner, having consistently won trophies during his managerial career, including the FA Cup and the Premier League with Chelsea in England.

Keeping that in mind, it would certainly make sense for Spurs to try to keep him for a little longer, especially given their trophy drought over the last 14 years or so.

I think Marina and Maurizio stayed behind to fulfill Maurizio’s contract with Watford. They were relocated to Catalonia in June within 2 weeks after the contract ended.

That said, it would be very difficult for a manager’s family to follow him around from place to place.

Hehe… Frank de Boer. Gone from Inter by November. Gone from Crystal Palace after 4 matches. Gone from Atlanta after 18 months. Gone from Netherlands after 9 months.

Can you imagine how badly his missus would have been up him had the family followed him around?

What?

No wonder his videos take 60 minutes to give 2 minutes worth of material. He spouts utter nonsense just for the sake of saying something. Pure diarrhea of the mouth.

Because Spurs want it? To stop any questions? This reads like a 12 year old writing a holiday wish list.

It is down to Conte to sign any extension. He will want to keep pressure on the club to continue to upgrade the squad, to support his needs and efforts. He is not going to sign a contract because ‘Spurs want it’ – and is certainly not going to sign it just to ‘stop the questions’ of starry-eyed fans.

‘a little more financial security’ – talk about a reach… go go gadget arms. This reeks of desperation on the part of little boy Gold to try to validate a ridiculous notion.

Financial security… like Conte will ever be short of high-paying management opportunities.

This is some pathetic ramble, Alasdair.

If there are kids involved, it’s likely that Conte is paying for some education and that will dictate!

I hear you H. I’ve been there myself. But Poch didn’t last long in Paris, always rumoured to come back to London. Will Conte be similar? He’s obviously lived in London before though unlike Paris Poch.

I guess that’s about his daughter’s education. If the system in Italy is like in England and there is a natural moving point aged 14 and 16, then maybe a move would happen at the right age for his daughter?

Poch’s family stayed in London during his PSG stint.
When men hit a certain age with families, trust me… ☺️

One thing to note- Ally also reports that Conte’s wife and daughter remain in Italy so there’s that…

Of course he’ll stay , HE WILL sign a new contract ……. Tell me of another club , another league that a] have a job vacancy b ] that have the scope of Tottenham Hotspur c] the utter content / belief of the fans d] the support of the board .
I refuse to believe , with the exception of Liverpool or City , that there is a club out there that would interest him . This is project TOTTENHAM – and I think he’s in it body & soul .
This is his time , this is our time , 2 or 3 years from now with Antonio at the helm , we can be a significant team in world football and , hope upon hope , a Premiership -winning side — WHY NOT ??? C O Y S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
