“I think” – Gary Neville makes surprise prediction regarding where Tottenham might finish next season

By Mehdi Gokal -

Manchester United legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has predicted where Tottenham will finish next season.

He believes Spurs will finish 8th in the table, below the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Speaking on The Overlap, Neville gave his predictions for the upcoming season:

“Just because of the three thing and never winning a fourth I am going to go Arsenal to win the league, City second. I think Arsenal can beat them.

“I think Arsenal, City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa. Newcastle and Tottenham. I think Newcastle and Tottenham, I think Newcastle Champions League and Tottenham, I’m not quite sure what is going on there.”

This assessment reflects the uncertainty surrounding the team’s performance under new manager Ange Postecoglou and the potential impact of key players’ departures.

Tottenham are expected to be a mystery team under new manager Ange Postecoglou with many not sure how Spurs will fare under him.

They have made several signings so far addressing some key issues. They have signed James Maddison and now have a top-class attacking midfielder in the team, a position that was overlooked since Eriksen.

They have also replaced Hugo Lloris with Guglielmo Vicario. Lloris was a big liability at the back last season making a series of errors leading directly to goals.

They have also signed Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, another very highly rated Dutch centre-back.

Other signings include Manor Solomon who has looked like a serious threat from the wings in the pre-season.

They are also expected to sign at least one more centre-back with strong links with Edmond Tapsoba as well as Clement Lenglet.

Under Postecoglou’s management, Tottenham are expected to adopt an attacking style of play, reminiscent of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure.

The manager’s focus on attractive football has boosted the club’s morale and instilled a sense of positivity.

However, the uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane’s future remains a critical factor. Kane’s goal-scoring prowess is crucial to Tottenham’s success, as evidenced by their reliance on him during pre-season matches.

Losing him could have a significant impact on the team’s ability to secure points consistently.

Ultimately, Tottenham’s performance this season will depend on how well the new signings integrate into the team, how effectively Postecoglou’s tactics are executed, and whether they can maintain a strong goal-scoring output in case Kane leaves.
