BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer has offered a critical opinion on Jose Mourinho’s approach to Tottenham’s injury problems.
Spurs have been dealt several setbacks over the course of the campaign, but they’ve been hit particularly hard in recent weeks with both Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son sidelined.
Moussa Sissoko and Hugo Lloris have also struggled with their own injury blows, and Mourinho has bemoaned their troubles, as noted by BBC Sport.
However, Shearer believes that the Spurs boss has been too negative and perhaps should instead focus on the quality that he still has at his disposal.
“I don’t think his tenure at Tottenham has gone as well as he would have hoped,” Shearer told Coral, as quoted by The Express. “I know they have had injuries, with Harry Kane and Son both out long-term.
“However, a lot of the time I listen to Jose, it’s negative. It’s either we haven’t got this, or we have to concentrate on this tie, so we can’t concentrate on that game.
“They still have some incredibly talented players at Tottenham, but they are not playing as well as their fans will want them to.”
With neither Kane nor Son set for an immediate return, Mourinho will have to get the best out of those who are still at his disposal in the coming weeks.
Tottenham are still chasing Champions League qualification while they will hope to overturn a deficit against RB Leipzig next week if they wish to remain in Europe this season.
Based on his comments above, Shearer perhaps believes that Mourinho should be more positive and send the right message to his players with so much still to play for between now and the end of the campaign.

Are the good players playing positive football? THAT’S MY GRIPE.
Shearer,Neville, and Keane all failed managers, lost respect for them long time ago.We don’t need to hear them slag Spurs off,we can do that ourselves.
Jose’s right Shearers a cock. Could’ve won all there is to win in the game instead went to N’castle. Says it all about his judgement
We just had a transfer window too so could have addressed some issues.. United brought igalo and hes banging them in… Spam brought jared bowen who scored at least once already.. Our striker, full backs and centre midfield are glaring weak points.
Stop this constant moaning about injuries.Yes we’ve had them, but so have just about every team in the PL.Mourinho knew what he signed up for and he knows how Levy operates. This will end in tears like always. It’s lucky the ar$e are firing blanks again or we might finish in the bottom half by tonight.
