“I don’t see them slipping up” Mark Lawrenson predicts Wycombe v Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Mark Lawrenson has predicted a comfortable win for Tottenham when they visit Wycombe in the FA Cup on Monday evening.

The Lilywhites are looking to win trophies and this competition is one that Spurs would love to win.

A victory in this fourth-round game will see Spurs face Everton or Sheffield Wednesday in the next round, but if they get beaten, they will have to focus on other competitions.

Spurs have excelled in the cups this season, including the Carabao Cup, but they will face a Wycombe side that has nothing to lose and defeated Preston North End in the last round.

It will be a tricky game and it remains unclear if Jose Mourinho will play his reserve players as he did in the last round against Marine.

Mark Lawrenson was predicting the game on the BBC and he said that he expects Tottenham to win the game.

He admitted that Mourinho might be tempted to field a stronger team than he did in the last round, but that shouldn’t stop the Lilywhites from ending the match with a pass to the next round.

He wrote: “Wycombe hammered my lot, Preston, in the last round while Tottenham made a load of changes but still easily saw off Marine.

“I am sure Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will have an eye on next Thursday’s game with Liverpool but he might pick a slightly stronger team for this tie. I don’t see them slipping up.

“Lawro’s prediction: 0-2”
