“I did ask him” – Peter Crouch reveals Harry Kane’s response when he asked him about his future

As the summer transfer window approaches, the future of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur continues to dominate discussions.

With his current contract set to expire next summer and no signs of a contract extension as yet, speculation of a potential departure during the upcoming transfer window is gaining momentum.

He has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United who have reportedly made his their top transfer target.

Bayern Munich and PSG are two other clubs that have been linked with him while La Liga giants Real Madrid have become the latest club to join the race to sign him with Carlo Ancelotti also reportedly making him his top transfer target.

One crucial factor that may influence Kane’s decision is his desire to surpass Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal-scoring record. Staying in England would provide him with the opportunity to achieve this feat, making a move to Manchester United the most plausible option.

Former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has shared his perspective on Kane’s future, revealing that he had spoken to the Spurs striker.

Crouch also expressed his belief that Kane should consider joining Manchester United. However, he acknowledged that the final decision ultimately rests with Kane, given his contractual obligations and the strong desire of the club to retain their star player.

He further assessed potential destinations, dismissing the possibility of Kane joining Chelsea or Arsenal. He suggested that while Newcastle United could be an option, it might be seen as a sideways move.

He told BT Sport (via Chronicle Live):

“‘I did ask him the question (if that was his last home game for Spurs) and he was very diplomatic in his answer. I don’t think even he knows.”

“There’s a man at the club that doesn’t want to lose his star player and what would it mean to these fans to lose a player of Kane’s calibre? Where can he go? Manchester City City is sewn up now. Manchester United is the only real option I can see. You can’t go to Chelsea. You can’t go to Arsenal.

“Newcastle is potentially an option but I still feel that’s a sideways move. Newcastle have got great potential but I feel like he might as well stay at Tottenham.”
