“I already said a while ago” Tottenham target takes a position on his future

Spurs have plans to sign a new long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and they have been linked with a move for several goalies.

HITC says one of their targets is Alex Remiro of Real Sociedad, who has been doing admirably well at the Spanish club.

Spurs are not the only club looking to sign him, but does the 26-year-old want to move?

Maybe not, and in a recent interview he reiterated his desire to continue helping his present club.

“I already said a while ago, the intention of both parties is I remain here as long as possible. I want to stay at La Real until the club (doesn’t) want me,” says Remiro told Noticias de Gipuzkoa

“And if something suddenly happens that doesn’t go along these lines, we will manage it all together, because I don’t want to generate any kind of problem.

“I am extremely grateful for everything I have experienced here to date – for the treatment, for each of the seasons, for the support, for the training.

“When I decided to leave Athletic (Remiro swapped Bilbao for arch rivals Sociedad in 2019), I didn’t do it looking to win games or to be the undisputed starter.

“What I was looking for was closeness, the people, the city. And today I can say I have found all that.”

The Boy Hotspur Says

Remiro might be enjoying a good campaign at Sociedad, but that doesn’t make him a suitable replacement for Lloris.

There are several other better goalkeepers that Spurs could sign and someone like Sam Johnstone already knows the Premier League very well.

There is still a lot of time for Spurs to find a replacement for the World Cup winner and getting a goalie who has Premier League experience would be much better.
