Hutton feels for Tottenham star as he might be stuck in the middle of nowhere

By Bruce Grove -

Alan Hutton has admitted that he feels sorry for Tottenham left-back, Danny Rose as it appears that he will waste the prime of his career.

The 30-year-old Englishman is out of the first-team picture at the Tottenham Stadium after falling out with Jose Mourinho earlier in the year.

Spurs used this transfer window to send a message to him after they signed Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

He has been training away from the first team and after the transfer window closed without him getting a move away from the club, Hutton feels sorry for him.

The former Premier League player admitted that something must have gone wrong in the player’s relationship with the club and manager, but he thinks Rose is still a fine player that simply deserves to be playing at the moment.

Adding that he expects him to be eyeing a place in Euros next year, but he will need to be playing regularly to achieve that.

“It’s a strange one, isn’t it? Something’s obviously gone on in the background, I don’t know, it baffles me,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“I’ve had it myself when you’re not playing and you’re playing with the under-23s, it’s an absolute nightmare. This will feel about two years for him now until January.

“It’s a real difficult situation, especially when you look at England, they’re going to be in the tournament in the summer and they’ve only got Chilwell – there are not millions of left-backs like they do at right-back.

“He would have had an eye on that – get a move, get back playing and focus on that. It’s an absolute nightmare for him. I’ve been there and I know how tough it is mentally.

“It is a shame, I think he’s a very good player, just a shame he couldn’t get out. It’s just something he’s going to have to deal with for the next few months.”

I can’t even remember who our last testimonial was. Ledders maybe?.. Either players have wanted out, or we have forced them out.

So very sad there will be no send-off for the clubs longest tenured player. I’m guessing there won’t be a testimonial, either, very Dawson like😢

Sick of seeing this crap over and over again. He’ll stay until his contract expires and then we can be rid of this malcontent once and for all.

If Rose sees himself playing this season he is likely going to have to drop down into the Championship. He could join Norwich and take Lewis’ place.Oh the irony.
