“He’s world-class” – Burnley forward states Harry Kane remains the best striker in the country

By Eddie Razo -

This season, Harry Kane has seven goals in 12 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, but only one goal in eight Premier League matches in 2021-22.

Plenty of pundits and supporters blame Kane’s inability to get by the failed transfer to Manchester City this summer, which has carried over into his performance. Kane saw his name linked to the Premier League rival for months, but no move would occur.

Despite the 28-year-old’s struggles with the north London-based club to begin the season, Burnley forward Jay Rodriguez believes Kane remains the best striker in the country.

“I feel he is (the best in the country),” Rodriguez said to Sky Sports. “I feel like he’s got everything as a striker. As a character, as a person, obviously, I don’t know him but what you see of him is level-headed but also ruthless in everything he does on the pitch.”

“He can finish any type of finish, and he’s world-class, and I think definitely the best striker. So it’s always good to go against these types of players, and it’s good to say that.”

Burnley faces Tottenham in the EFL Round of 16 Wednesday night and

The Clarets will need to prepare for Kane should he start, as he’s only made one appearance thus far.

Tottenham plays Manchester United on Saturday, so manager Nuno Espírito Santo might want to hold out his star player and have him ready to go against The Red Devils.
