“He’s not interested” – Tottenham star ruthlessly slammed for his ‘terrible’ performance against Sheffield United

By Mehdi Gokal -

TalkSport pundit Jason Cundy has slammed Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez for his poor performance against Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

Spurs’ chances of a domestic trophy were dashed when they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sheffield. Iliman Ndiaye came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 79th minute.

It was a poor display all in all but in particular certain players have been singled out for their performances. Jamie O’Hara and Alan Shearer have both slammed Brazilian striker Richarlison for not stepping up. He was started the match in place of Harry Kane who was was given a rare opportunity to rest. But Richarlison was woeful and was substituted at the hour mark.

Another big money signing who has been a major flop at the club is Davinson Sanchez. He joined the club in 2017 for a fee of €42m making him one of the club’s most expensive signings ever. But the move has not worked out for him. In particular under Antonio Conte who has preferred the likes of Clement Lenglet, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero over him.

And he was far from convincing in his rare start against Sheffield United. He was partly blamed for the goal Spurs conceded with Iliman Ndiaye going past him very easily before putting the ball at the back of the net.

Cundy was far from impressed by his display who ripped into the Colombian. He told talkSport (via TBR):

“For the goal it’s like he’s moving in quicksand. He’s not interested. He’s terrible.”

Spurs fans will be hugely disappointed by the result considering this is a huge blow to their chance of winning a trophy this season. The club is out of both domestic competitions and their only hope to a silverware is now the Champions League in which they are already trailing 1-0 to AC Milan.
