“He’s better off leaving” A Highlight Video Of A Spurs Player Emerges But Many Reactions Are… Less Than Upbeat

By The Boy -

Oliver Skipp has undoubtedly won the hearts and minds of most Tottenham fans with his solid displays for Championship topping Norwich City. Barely even a fringe player at Spurs, Skipp has been allowed to come out his shell at Carrow Road and judging by the comments online from Canaries fans after games, become a much valued player. One account shared the show reel, but the mood in the Spurs camp is so low, that most respondents were inclined to tell the boy to steer clear of a return to London.

Difficult to believe that Skipp himself isn’t happy to be where he is, right now.

“Mourinho thinks he’s ready for the Prem”

Well, he may be, but would you trust the opinion of a man who not so long ago said of his team – “fantastic, I’m very happy to have this squad”, “these players are top quality”, and, not only finally but most recently – “I’m happy to rotate a lot because I trust every single player”.

Having just read that back, I accept that both those dreams are probably likely without leaving Spurs!

He’ll be 21 in September, and has had a full season playing every game is a promotion campaign in the championship – I think next season is the time to show if he can step up and be a top premiership player, or whether he’ll have a career as a mid table journeyman.

Agh the fantasy that Levy peddled to avoid having to buy Poch some decent players – the Academy will come to the rescue, it has to because it’s the best in the world blah blah. What a load of cow dung. It’s produced one worldy in Kane and that’s it.
Having 1st rate facilities counts for naff all on the pitch if managers aren’t supported in the transfer market. If you buy average as has been our style, then the team becomes average. If you buy cheap hoping to strike lucky eventually, then you end up paying more in the long run than buying quality at a higher price, simply because it’s a massive gamble. If it was that easy all the clubs would be doing it. It doesn’t work especially as you then have to sell the player on at a big loss.
Make no bones about it Levy’s transfer policy is massively flawed. So why do so many managers join us? Obviously because Levy lies to them, there can be no other explanation. Either that or they know they’ll get a big pay day when the stuff eventually hits the fan as it always does.

Keep him well away from the Dier / Winks / Alli axis.

Given our struggles, I hope we won’t break his development curve by bringing him back and introducing him to the first team too early.

Patience is necessary, we don’t want a Winks 2.0.
