“He won’t leave” – Huge boost for Spurs as Fabrizio Romano gives major update

By Mehdi Gokal -

Fabrizio Romano has given a major boost to Spurs with his latest update suggesting that Antonio Conte is not going anywhere this season.

The Italian has been linked with a return to Juventus, who have struggled this season under manager Max Allegri, losing again yesterday to Benfica which knocked them out of the Champions League. They are also ranked eighth in the league.

Tottenham, on the other hand, has performed admirably. He took over last season and led them to the Champions League, and he is off to an equally strong start this season. Even though his team has recently shown a slight dip in form, indicating that they are still a work in progress, Conte’s team is still heading in the right direction.

Conte, as evidenced by his track record at his previous clubs, can do wonders at Spurs with proper club backing. However, Conte is said to be looking for assurances of backing and aligned ambitions before signing a new contract with the club.

If Juventus are to sack Allegri, reports suggest that Conte is their main target who could be open to leaving Spurs to take charge of the Serie A club where he won three Serie A titles in a row.

However, Fabrizio Romano has provided some boost to worried Spurs fans regarding Conte’s future. He told CaughtOffside that neither Allegri nor Conte are looking to change clubs at the moment, nor are Juventus planning on sacking him. He wrote:

“No changes on Massimiliano Allegri’s situation.”

“Juventus won’t sack him and he won’t leave, despite another disappointing defeat to Benfica.

“Andrea Agnelli confirmed his intention to continue with Allegri, whose current deal expires in June 2025.”

This is very good news for Tottenham, as the only club that could have persuaded Conte to leave Spurs in the middle of his project is not planning to do so.

Spurs are reportedly ‘working‘ on a new contract for the Italian, so with the club’s full support and time on his side, he could finally win a trophy with the club, putting an end to the club’s trophy drought.
