“He was the best midfielder I have seen,” Attacker names the one player he misses at Spurs

By Bruce Grove -

Lucas Moura has named Mousa Dembele as the best midfielder he has played with.

The midfielder left Spurs in 2019, just before they reached the final of the Champions League.

Some fans would argue that the Lilywhites may have beaten Liverpool if the former Fulham man was in the team for the final.

Dembele was one of the best players in the Premier League in terms of keeping possession of the ball.

He was also very skilful and adept at picking the right pass at the right moments.

The Belgian was one of the most trusted players of Mauricio Pochettino and his departure may have contributed to the poor performance that ended with the club sacking the Argentinian.

Moura spent just a year with Dembele at Spurs before the midfielder left the club.

The Brazilian joined from PSG, where he had played alongside some of the best players in Europe, but he reckons Dembele is the best midfielder he has played with.

“On the pitch I miss Mousa Dembele, a really incredible player. He was the best midfielder I have seen,” he said to the Tottenham Twitch channel.

“I miss a lot of players, football gave me a lot of friends and a lot of good players that I play with.”

And he’s never been replaced, though I suppose N’Dombele was an attempt.

People still spell his name wrong though.. It’s Moussa Dembele.. The Doctor.. We all miss him. Most underrated player we’ve had in my recent memory.
