I’m afraid it’s Paul Merson again, but truth be told the old boy isn’t spouting nonsense this time, so we might consider these thoughts a tad more commonsensical than some of his previous claims. We’re back to the whole ‘is Harry Kane wasting his time at Tottenham’ sketch.
Many fans will believe this notion to be ridiculous, that Kane bleeds Lilywhite, but that seems rather ambitious given the manner in which most incredibly talented footballers tend to conduct themselves.

no – Kane he is arguably the best player in teh world at the moment. There is not one side he would not improve. Plus his age.
Only if we ‘do the Leeds’.
After the stadium was built Baldy promised to focus on the team and winning titles.. He gave Botchy his club record targets on big money who failed in spectacular fashion. Botch had to go.. Maureen coming in shows intent… We are now in full transition, deadwood needs to go… You bang on we lack ambition because of low net wage, yet we are 5th highest net wage we pay more than the scouse. Covid is very relevent in all of this now.. I am no fan of Levy but I do believe he is clever enough to realise winning generates more money.. He built the stadium so we could financialy compete with the big boys…. Its a shame about the billion pound debt and covid in the process.
Kane is almost a once in a lifetime talent.. Last striker as good as Kane, arguably better was Greavse. 60 odd years ago.
If Kane stuck with Spuds because his heart ruled his head, that’s great, all power to him, I’ll enjoy the wonder & rarity of that ride. I hope he goes though, just to see what he could do at a big club, and to collect one or two much deserved trophies worthy of his skills. The clubs which generally get the elite trinkets are the ones owned by Billionaires who’s focus is on prestige rather than profits; sadly Kane’s heartstrings are attached to a ruthless property portfolio and he really needs to break free before it drains him of his entire career in the pursuit of the most fabulous net spend wet dream in Premier League history.
Football’s history books don’t include the bottom line, and as a result of that being our owner’s primary ambition, our Harry’s in danger of being a footnote.
Kane is like the fans, he wants to win stuff. Levy couldn’t give a toss…
Levy thought this squad was so good that we didn’t need to make a signing for whole year, he’s changed the manager, that hasn’t worked, so what’s next for the bald assassin?
Manager number 14 that’s what and load more guff about building for the future, it’l be another year gone by since Leicester won the league.
Meanwhile Levy promises that it will happen at some hazy point in the future, just because of all the concrete and glass he’s erected. He’s just taking the p*ss out of us…
Take Jose out of that equation, he’s gone in the summer…
Would you say the same about Son, Hojberg, Ndombele, lo Celso and Mourinho?
Kane has said he will stay as long as the club match his ambitions. I don’t think he has ever spelled out exactly what those ambitions are beyond the obvious.
He will probably want assurances on quality players being brought in in the summer before he makes up his mind.
The other thing that might be important is how Harry does in the Euros this summer. This is the shop window, if he stars expect the bids to come in.
Personally to me Harry Kane is a once in a generation talent, I know you could say the same of Bale, but the difference is Bale was never going to stay, and Harry deserves having a team built around him to grace that talent, a team that will win Harry the prizes his talent deserves.
Whether the team that puts Harry in position to win the Premier League and Champions League is Spurs or some other club is the decision of Harry Kane and Daniel Levy.
I will judge Kane if he stays. I honestly would question his ambition.
