“He hasn’t got that bite to his game” Jenas singles out Tottenham star after Palace loss

By Bruce Grove -

Jermaine Jenas wasn’t impressed by the performance of Tottenham’s midfield against Crystal Palace and he singled out Oliver Skipp as one player who isn’t doing well.

Skipp spent last season on loan at Norwich City and he was an ever-present in their midfield as they won promotion to the Premier League.

His development impressed Nuno Santo and the new manager kept him in his squad for this campaign.

Skipp started the season ahead of the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.

He was in the lineup as Tottenham were beaten by Crystal Palace yesterday, but he didn’t sparkle.

He was a part of a midfield diamond that Nuno Santo had to use because of a lack of options with the likes of Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn missing the game through injuries.

Jenas watched on as Tottenham’s midfield struggled in the game and says Skipp’s game is lacking something.

“Oliver Skipp, to me, doesn’t look fit in that midfield area,” said Jenas on BT Sport as quoted by HITC.

“He hasn’t got that bite to his game that he has usually got, at the minute,” he added.

Tottenham’s next two Premier League matches are against Chelsea and Arsenal and they will hope to have their key players back for those matches.
