Harry Kane destroyed one player’s opportunity of playing for Arsenal

By Bruce Grove -

Scott Dann is one of the most reliable defenders in the Premier League at the moment and he has been immense for Crystal Palace for the most part since he moved to the London side from Blackburn Rovers in 2014.

After coming through the ranks at Walsall, he started to make a name for himself at Birmingham City and he was so good for them that he attracted the attention of Arsenal.

The Gunners had been keeping an eye on him and in a reserve game against Tottenham that he was to play in. Arsenal’s Steve Rowley informed Harry Redknapp that they wanted to attend the game so that they can see Dann, whom they wanted to sign.

Rowley remarked that the defender had been struggling with an injury, and Arsenal wanted to check on his fitness before they made a final decision on signing him.

Dann might have turned out for the Gunners in the future, but in that game, he faced a Harry Kane that was simply too hot to handle.

Redknapp claimed that Kane scored four goals that day and prompted Arsenal not sign Dann.

“I remember playing against Birmingham in a reserve game, and I got a phone call from Steve Rowley, who was the head of recruitment at Arsenal, with Pat Rice; they wanted to watch the game,” Redknapp told Talksport.

“They said, ‘Harry, can we come to your training ground? We’re signing Scott Dann, he’s had a little bit of an injury and we want to check on his fitness’.

“Scott Dann is a good player, but Harry Kane played against him that day, scored four goals, and they didn’t sign Scott Dann.”

No disgrace in being mullered by HK.
Dann was always a player I wondered about at Spurs thinking solidity versus Sanchez’ brain farts

Its the same for everyone and we are handling it better than everyone. Soon top. “Business as usual? That’ll make things easier. You’ll have to find something else stupid to knock being “top with. Learn how to enjoy certain moments. Life’s all about a series of them

Soon top. 14 players purely for prem games (nothing else) we’d win it. José wants it all though🌚

Still so early in the season but it shows that with no fans and the schedule, that things are far from business as usual right now… 😂

He’s awesome, because he’s English and he talks with a certain way he’s not respected in this country enough as a player.

He’s as good as Shearer was already and Shearer was a very consistent striker. I’d say he’s getting into that company along with Rooney etc. Works his socks off.

Well done Saints and KWP, always seemed like a good honest lad.

In this crazy season, it certainly puts our 3rd position in perspective a bit too! Let’s not get carried away just yet, Citeh and Chavski still gotta come, good start, let’s see how we go…
