Tottenham stopped the rot of four successive defeats with a 1-1 draw against Burnley, although not for Davinson Sanchez’s lack of trying.
The Colombian defender had ‘one of those games’, and seems to have had a few of them this season, intermittently in between some good outings.

Sanchez either seems to be very good or very bad, and the reaction of these Spurs fans on Twitter will tell you which one of those it was at Turf Moor.
Davinson Sanchez get out of my club.

@SpursOfficial What's happened to Davinson Sanchez? He's bang out of form. Toby and Jan together in the middle please. If playing Sanchez with them, have Sessegnon and Tanganga as wing-backs #COYS #THFC

Davinson sanchez has been extremely poor today
— Mark (@TankTanganga) March 7, 2020
Sanchez’s inconsistency is very worrying. The defender who looked every bit the heir apparent to the Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen partnership during his first season but his development has regressed.
With Vertonghen out of contract in the summer and Alderweireld the wrong side of 30, I wouldn’t be in any rush to move Sanchez on.
But for now Jose Mourinho has enough centre-back options to bench him for a while, otherwise when will this Jekyll and Hyde act ever end?

Another waster they should be hit rid of at the earliest opportunity
Players forms go up and down. Everyone forgets how poor Sissoko was for 2 years. Now he’s “essential”. Son was very iffy for a season and a half. Now any side would want him. Sanchez will come good eventually. Also hopefully N’dombele but his physique is odd which may prevent him being a dynamic box to box type of player.
Who remembers getting excited when you saw the peanut man starting his rounds. Sometimes my dad would say “don’t look at me today son. mi bruk like a church mouse. 🌚
The peanut man ain’t walking round the old lane anymore. Not many rattles&rose-zetts (can’t spell it) either.
In other words you can’t adapt to change? You’d best start to or you’ll be left even further behind.
He doesn’t like French players, always calls them out.
Those average signings actually allowed us to play good football and play CL regularly. But I guess Mourinho knows best.
Sanchez was brilliant that first season, since then he often looks inconsistent and distracted.
Bit of a shame really.
He clearly doesn’t like Tanguy for whatever reason, I don’t really care though. It’s part of management and Tanguy is yet another excuse for a manager just not cutting the mustard anymore.
“The squad is amazing” said Jose when he arrived. “We have a very talented squad, they just need to get back to winning ways” said Levy.
Er… ok then. What’s changed that you pair of ‘experts’ can’t seem to fix?
They just want tourists to come and spend loads of money – football fans spend less
Pope looks good.
Sadly, Sanchez cannot pass the ball properly to his own players.
His heading of clearance is terrible. Can someone please instruct him to head the ball towards the sidelines not where the opposition can pick up the ball and score.
Whilst we are on the subject of investing in players let’s buy Pope from Burnley. He is
a reliable and safe pair of hands.
Spot On . Its like a Virus.

Poch made it very very clear that he had no say on who the players that were brought in. He went on record on that and that was teh beginning of the end so dont re write history on this blog – we know whats going on Duke. Whoever you are.
Sanchez will be sold. He’s another of Poch’s average signings who has only got worse. Mourinho’s assessment of him was spot on.
