Gedson Fernandes’ Best Debut Moments [video]

By The Boy -

Welcome to the fast lane, Gedson! This isn’t a bad first touch from a boy making his debut for a Premier League side. Gedson Fernandes certainly isn’t lacking confidence. Nice move.

This clip maybe nothing special, but it does make you wonder why most Tottenham signings over the past few years were almost put into quarantine when they first arrived? Gedson looks like he’s been playing with this side for some time.

Last but not least, Fernandes pops up to have a hand in the Erik Lamela toe poke that didn’t quite cross the line.

More, please.

I want to just say that I was a huge Poch fan until I saw he could not take us any further. I suppose that’s partly due to Enic and partly Poch. So in my opinion Poch’s philosophy was flawed. It’s ok to want to remain loyal to players but that eventually it gives rise to complacency, thus the need to refresh with a few new faces is very important. However, if you take so long to integrate the new players it loses its effectiveness.

Under Jose you will find the likes of Dele, Dier, Lucas, and even Son won’t be able to put in half assed performances because they will be hooked off or benched. For this to work we need Levy fully on board. That’s another matter of course…

Under the Poch schedule Gedson would not appear this season, he’d make his debut in a pre season friendly, then not be seen again until the New Year.

Ok it’s time to announce jose. Oh sorry we have. Look the season for us is over. Southampton will dump us out of the cup on Saturday followed by defeats by City, Sheffield and in the CL leipzip. Jose will continue on with what he is doing just like he did at united. We will finish the season 12th or 13th. Come the summer window more players will want to leave Levy will demand crazy money and the eriksen saga will start again on a much larger scale. The fans will blame Jose who is still getting paid no matter what and history tells him don’t worry either way he will be quids in. Yes enic and Levy are building a great success on the pitch the only thing is this will affect our rating next year in the money league so guess what ladies come the summer window there will be limited funds for buying and players will have to be sold first.

If you look at the squad Poch developed, the actual individuals were not super star recruits the traditional top 6 teams buy. The system was the important factor and when you lost a few pieces eg Walker, Mousa the team was not as effective.

The trouble is that Poch’s methods are similar to Pep’s and Klopp’s and therefore the future of the game.

We can revert back to the pre-Pep Barca thing that changed the modern game as much as we like. The fact is that Jose’s approach isn’t as bullet proof as it once was, especially on a shoestring budget.

We’ll have to wait one see but if Jose’s methods are easier for a new player to understand and slot into them why does he need so much time to get it right?

Had Chavski won this weekend , we would have been as many points off top 4 as we were the day Poch was sacked.

I honestly think Levy expected it to be fixed to some degree at least by now with a new voice and methods from a respected manager.

I’m not blaming Jose, he’s doing his best (the fact I’m not a fan of his is irrelevant), Levy said that we had a talented squad and that the players just needed to get back to winning ways. He seems in complete denial about the lack of investment in the team over the last five years and the devastating effects it has had.

It just shows how little he knows about football, or even cares about it…

Poch’s philosophy was that the players are paid to train. So he did, over-trained them in fact.. Daniel Levy was happy because he was getting more return on their wages than if they weren’t training. If you could cope with the training you had a chance of selection, so it was unlikely that a newbie would be uber-fit (or uninjured) in order to play. Plus they would have to learn the tactics and positioning to fit into the Poch system.

I could never understand why Poch took ages to get the new players involved
