The future of Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been discussed, considering if the north London club doesn’t back him financially, he could depart.
If the Italian tactician doesn’t see a significant transfer budget to fix the needs, then Spurs might have to look for another manager. RMC Sport in France has cited Tottenham as a possible destination for current Stade Rennais FC manager Bruno Génésio.
According to the French media outlet, three clubs have already shown interest in England: Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham, and Everton FC. Meanwhile, Valencia and Real Sociedad in Spain and Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia have also inquired about the Frenchman.
The 55-year-old has Rennes fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot next season, but his contract expires in 2023, and he has yet to extend his deal with the Ligue 1 club.
There are no further details if this is a ploy to get the French club to improve any extension offer or if he’s ready to go abroad again for his next challenge. As for Spurs, it’s probably simple, spend the money to fix the squad, and Conte remains, but if they hesitate, they might need to find other options.
