Four players tipped to join Tottenham when Paratici resumes work

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is closing in on making Fabio Paratici their director of football as they prepare for the new season.

Spurs have been struggling in the last few campaigns and they were keen to get back inside the top four in the last campaign with Jose Mourinho at the helm.

Despite signing the likes of Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty and Gareth Bale, they finished outside the top six.

They are looking to restructure the club and they have moved to make Paratici their new sporting director after his hugely successful spell at Juventus previous to last season.

He is expected to become the head of player sales and recruitment and The Express has now named the players who could join the club when he resumes work.

The report says he should pursue a deal for Lille’s Zeki Celik as it appears almost certain that Serge Aurier will leave the club in the summer.

It also tipped them to move for Danny Ings as the replacement for Harry Kane, who has asked to leave the club again.

The Englishman is having a contract standoff with Southampton and it may be because he wants to leave them.

The report also mentioned Wilfried Zaha claiming that Spurs fancy him to play on the opposite flank to Son Heung-min.

The report then adds that Spurs are considering a move for Dean Henderson and Paratici could sign him as the long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

“Levy fits the strait jacket the minute they enter the building.” Like it and, alas, apt!

It’s Baldini all over again. Who did Levy get to spend the ‘Bale’ money and who do you reckon recommended Paratici? Stinks of Baldini. These guys always turn up when the money is coming in. Paratici will spend the ‘Kane’ money.

When Levy sacked Poch my first thoughts were; Eddie Howe. Not in respect of the manager I wanted but because Howe was the man who Levy would be able to manipulate into accept his parameters. Sell to buy; plus whatever else is generated through extra revenue, European qualification and an overall wage budget which cannot be exceded. Levy fits the strait jacket the minute they enter the building. Poch & Conte rumours helped Spurs with ST renewals and Poch to get an extra year at PSG and some backing. Nobody else has mentioned how PSG may have been tempted to appoint Conte before the ‘Spurs interest’ in Poch. Eddie Howe’s tenure @ Bournemouth went pear shaped @ about the same time as Levy sacked Poch. Bournemouth would have needed compensating at the time if Spurs had made an official approach. It looks to me as though Jose was always a temporary appointment while Levy waited for any strings placed on Eddie Howe to be removed. Howe is drifting into the reckoning from 25-1 to 11-1.

Mark my words, when Spurs announce this guy Paratici as director of football, the signings he’ll bring to Spurs will be of an older age, they’ll either be free transfers of will be cheap with no sell on value. And after a few years he’ll leave us in the same position Juventus are now, an old team that needs a complete overhaul, knowing Levy that’s when he’ll sell the club, just before we’re in trouble.

I suppose it just highlights the disconnect at the club between the “transfer committee” and the manager.

Long time rumours of Levy signing players the manager doesn’t want and articles like this just tend to underline that.

How can we be looking to bring all these players in with no manager ?

this sounds a nonsense – the new guy comes in and is told to buy four players he hasn’t chosen so why are we employing him

Zeki c’s a very good right back. Reggi sessy Rodon japh Anderson Toby zeki Doherty (wing back) peh Skippy (celly&ndom who I think will have good seasons) along with our attacker’s we’ll have a good side. DOF could bring couple in too. We’ll be alright man. Manager wise we’ll come up with suttn. I wouldn’t send troy back out on loan.
I’m really hoping bale stays.
