“Tottenham would accept”, “will be the deal done.” – Levy to sanction sale as club prepares ridiculous offer

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Argentine international is said to be eager to leave the club this summer due to the limited playing time this season.

Under Ange Postecoglou, Lo Celso has delivered some of his best performances in a Tottenham shirt, even though his role has primarily been a supportive one.

He did extremely well in the absence of James Maddison, proving to be a key squad player for the manager. He has 4 goal contributions, scoring 2 and assisting 2 in 17 league appearances so far.

But it has been another frustrating season for the midfielder, who has struggled with injuries, missing 11 games so far due to hamstring and muscle related problems.

He is not short of suitors, with several European clubs vying for his signature over the last two transfer windows.

Ex Tottenham scout believes club will accept Lo Celso offer

The latest club to be interested in him is Atletico Madrid. That is according to a recent report from Spanish news outlet Fichajes, which claims that Diego Simeone is keen on bringing Lo Celso to La Liga, with the Madrid-based club ready to make a “ridiculous offer” worth €20 million.

And former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes it is an offer Daniel Levy would gladly accept.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“He doesn’t seem to be a first choice for Ange Postecoglou, and if they can sell the player for good money that would make sense.”

“Lo Celso has got more chance of getting regular game time with Atletico Madrid than he does in North London.”

“I would think that is an offer Tottenham would accept.“

“Knowing Levy, if there is a good offer on the table and he can get some money back, that will be the deal done.”
