Former Tottenham man expecting big things from Spurs youngster next season

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham winger, Jack Clarke, has been backed by Michael Brown to make an impact on the Spurs’ first-team next season.

The youngster was signed from Leeds United last summer despite playing less than 25 games for the Whites.

He was then allowed to stay with Marcelo Bielsa’s side last season, but he failed to get much game time, featuring just the once.

He was recalled and sent back out on loan to QPR for the second half of the season.

He still failed to make an impact at Loftus Road and he has now returned to the club.

He was signed for around £10 million and the club believes that he will be a star of the future.

He is currently part of the club’s preparation for the new season and Brown reckons that he will shine for Spurs in the coming campaign.

He admitted that the midfielder has struggled recently but that is because he hasn’t had enough game time and claimed that he obviously has a lot of ability.

Asked by Football Insider what he expects of Clarke next season, the former Tottenham player said: “He’s got the potential, we know he’s got that.

“It was just the minutes he didn’t get to play.

“Lets just wait and see what condition he’s come back in. It’s a slightly different game the Premier League than it is in the Championship.

“You wouldn’t be overly surprised if he did get more minutes or was involved in the first-team squad.

“The ability is there. He needs to mature and learn the game.

“It was probably a bit of a misshaped season after his move to Spurs.”
