Former Tottenham man, Mido has urged the England FA to fire Gareth Southgate and make a move for Jose Mourinho as their manager instead.
Mido spent two seasons as a player under Southgate at Middlesbrough, and he claims that the England manager only knows how to say the right things to the media, but remains a fearful person.
Mourinho has won several trophies in his managerial career and the Portuguese manager is one manager that delivers results wherever he has managed.
He is now looking to help Tottenham end their wait for a trophy and help the likes of Harry Kane to bag some trophies and add to their collection of individual achievements.
Mido claims that England has several top players that are being wasted under Southgate and he urged them to make a move for a manager like Mourinho so that they can make good use of the talents at their disposal, he made this known on his Twitter page.
“England needs a proper manager..they are wasting their time with Southgate,” Mido said as quoted by the Mirror.
“It’s true he always says the right things in the media and probably that’s why he kept his job for so long but believe me he is stuttering every time things goes wrong at halftime. Players feel his fear!
“England got some top talents in their side they need a manager with strong character someone who can get them to enjoy themselves and play with no fear..I’m sorry but Southgate is not the man to do that!!
“I remember him at boro he was scared to death when we were fighting relegation true it was his first job but these things never change!! If you r scared from losing a football match you will always be scared from losing a football match!! And players can always feel it!!
“My advice to the FA go and get Mourinho as your head coach and appoint Southgate as the FA chairman they r both perfect for the job.. get Southgate away from the players..as far as you can!!”
Southgate relegated Boro, then promised everyone he would get them back up from the championship, but was sacked the very next season… The man is no Rafa Benitez thats for sure…. Southgate is ok to coach England kids, but no way is he good enough to manage the senior team… Who on earth is in charge of the English FA? Who picks the managers? Southgate Hodgson Allardyce Mclaren Capello GoranEriksen.. Bunch of clowns. I’ve seen one golden generation wasted, now on the brink of another.
I reckon Mido probably didn’t get on with Gareth at Boro, which is probably what it’s all about. If Jose took the England job Poch could come back home and carry on with a squad that’s finally been refreshed. Along with the nicer footy and win sumfink.

Looking from the outside, I find Southgate such a depressing character.
There’s no way young pep will not manage the biggest club in London one day, especially after the fine fine work José will have laid down. 8 years time maybe. I’m expecting at least 5 years out of José. He’d smash it as England manager
What hes saying is spot on. Boro got relegated and never returned….. But Mido is Egyptian and I guess still a spurs fan? Errrrrr we don’t want our manager going anywhere.
