Former England legend has his say on Tottenham’s title chances

By Bruce Grove -

Paul Scholes doesn’t think Tottenham should be in the conversation when there is a discussion about teams that can win the Premier League.

The former England star was speaking about Manchester United’s chances of winning the title and says Spurs may have beaten the Red Devils, but they are not part of the teams challenging for the league right now.

Spurs have had a mixed season as they search for some form, despite starting the campaign very well.

They have lost their talisman, Harry Kane, to injury which makes their task of earning Premier League points even harder.

They have lost their last two league matches to Liverpool and Brighton and face a big test against Chelsea later today.

They are in a position where they will have to go on a fine run of form before they can get back in the title race, but Scholes doesn’t think that Jose Mourinho’s men are one of the title challengers.

He told Premier League Productions: “It’s (Man Utd’s results against big sides) not good enough. You are not going to win the league with them type of performances or results.

“But you need to start winning these games. When you are playing the teams around you, it’s amazing the boost it gives you.

“I know Tottenham are in that but they are not the ones going for the title. You talk about your Liverpool’s, Manchester City’s and they cannot seem to win them games.”
