“Find a new club” – Sky Sports man claims Tottenham have told ‘problem’ player to look for a new club

By Mehdi Gokal -

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has been told to find a new club.

Tottenham’s focus has shifted to offloading surplus players as the transfer window deadline approaches. The club’s large squad includes several players who are deemed surplus to requirements and have been transfer-listed.

This includes the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele.

Ndombele, who arrived at Tottenham as the club’s record signing in 2019 for a fee of £63 million, has struggled to meet the high expectations associated with his signing.

Despite his significant potential, his performances have not lived up to the hype, and he has failed to impress the various managers he has worked under at Spurs.

Last season, Ndombele spent time on loan at Napoli, where he contributed to the club’s Serie A title triumph. However, Napoli did not pursue a permanent deal for the French midfielder.

The Sky Sports reporter told GiveMeSport:

“Ndombele is a problem. I feel, at the moment, because he was a record signing on big wages. He’s been told to find a new club. I think Reguilon will go. I think he’s got interest there, not just from Man Utd. But there is interest.”

Tottenham will want to sort out the deal for Ndombele before the transfer window shuts. As per the latest update from Romano, they have agreed a deal with Italian side Genoa to loan out the midfielder but they have to convince the player.

They also hope to bring in a striker to replace Harry Kane who joined Bayern Munich earlier this month. Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson and Gent’s Gift Orban are the two players strongly linked with a move, with reports about the former now gaining strength.

The final days of the transfer window will be crucial for Tottenham as they rebuild their squad.
