Spurs could face Manchester City in front of fans when both teams meet in the Carabao Cup final.
With the coronavirus pandemic raging through the UK, fans have been absent from football stadiums throughout this season.
However, as their vaccination efforts have been very successful, the government is now looking for ways to get the fans back as part of the easing of the general lockdown.
The next two months would see the country emerge from different restrictions and that might see fans return for the Carabao Cup final.
Mail Sport says EFL chairman, Rick Parry is pushing for the final to be added as a part of the pilot events for next month.
It is believed that they will include the FA Cup semi-finals in the pilot events to get a feel of how fans would safely return to the stadiums.
The Carabao Cup final wasn’t initially included as a part of the test events, however, the report says Parry has been pushing for it to be added and his efforts seem to be working.
Spurs have suffered from inconsistent form in this campaign, but they need to end their season on a high by winning that trophy.
The return of fans might play to their advantage.
Part of the problem is I don’t have confidence in us winning it, and the other part is going from Champions league final to cheap redbull knockoff final is hard to take.
Judging by the front pages I’ve seen in the shop nobody’s going to do anything ….headline: Boris says 3rd wave will hit Britain! In big letters.
Teeing it up for the flip flop. They will be reversing the “roadmap” very soon.
Raging….hahaha! Good one. Imagine being allowed to go to a match??
Getting to the final? No. Winning it? Winning a trophy by knocking out Chelsea and City would surely be a good thing to celebrate, don’t you agree?
Sorry if this is a bit negative, but we are supposed to celebrate getting to the final of a cup sponsored by Thailand’s 2nd biggest energy drink company?
