Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has been left unhappy by the decision to hand Moussa Sissoko a new long-term contract, according to Football Insider.
Sissoko recently signed a four-year extension which could keep him at Spurs until the summer of 2023, by which time he will be approaching 34, and still have scored exactly two goals for the club.
Rose meanwhile has been continually told that he will not be offered a new contract and is free to leave the club, despite the fact he is 11 months younger than the France midfielder.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has traditionally been reluctant to offer his players long-term contracts well into their 30s, and Ryan Sessegnon has been signed to eventually replace Rose at left-back.
An exclusive Football Insider source claims that the England international is frustrated at not being given the same treatment as Sissoko by the Spurs hierarchy despite 12 years of service.
Some fans were frustrated to see Sissoko put pen to paper while the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen run their contracts down, but it was a just reward for the Frenchman’s professionalism and vastly improved performances, which have seen him become a key player for Mauricio Pochettino.
Nobody could doubt Rose’s effort and commitment last season as he earned his place back from Ben Davies, but he has started this campaign very poorly and his behind-the-scenes grievances could be a factor in this.

Coco played well, scored again + 2 assists. He is end to end for 90mins, already has goals and an assist but doesn’t start in the prem.

Pleasure to be there again tonight. It’s true they weren’t great but this was just the game we needed to get our confidence back. We looked good off the ball and on it. We were snapping at them every opportunity. Great morale booster ahead of Liverpool

Great result proved me wrong.However a little context is needed here,they were even worse than we have been this season.Probably Kane’s best performance this season.Plus good performances from N’Dombele and Sonny.
Marin could be a Levy cheapskate signing once Eriksen goes,or before,he looked half decent.
Liverpool will be an entirely different prospect,a real opponent.

Ndombele was the difference for me tonight. Always playing the ball forward and between the channels opening up spaces for our front players. Sonny and Kane as a result looked more like their old selves. Early days with Los Celso but again he seems to want to move forward all the time and when he is up to speed along side Ndombele we should start regaining that forward momentum. Add a flying Sessignon down the left and Dybala added in January and we may have something to start crowing about again.

Awful opposition, but Spurs played well and the stadium was rocking.

Best 45 mins this season. Ndombele is driving us forward and linking up well with Son out wide. First headed goal I have seen from Spurs in a long time. Great cross and finish by Lamela and Son. You just have to love Son. What a legend….
