Spurs head into our home Premier League clash against Brentford on a five-game winless run, with manager Thomas Frank facing a familiar injury crisis that’s left the squad depleted.

We are without several key players, though there’s cautious optimism around one or two potential returns, which makes a refreshing change!

What’s the good news

Cristian Romero is back available after serving a suspension, providing a boost to the defence.

No suspensions are currently active for upcoming matches.

Youth players like Archie Gray (recently recovered from a calf strain) are also stepping up.

Who’s definitely out?

James Maddison is still on the mend from his ACL injury suffered in the pre-season; this long-term absence rules out any involvement this campaign. We’ll see you next season.

Dominic Solanke, Dom, has missed recent games, including the draw at Newcastle; recovery ongoing, but he will not feature against Brentford.

Dejan Kulusevski, the Swede’s patella, has been ruled out for over five months since May; he’s nearing a return, but late December is the realistic timeline after recent training progress in Dubai.

Radu Dragusin. The news here is that he’s progressing but unlikely to feature this weekend; more updates expected soon.

Yves Bissouma, the Mali international, required surgery on ankle ligaments; a significant blow to midfield stability, with no imminent return. Biss will be back in a week or two.

Kota Takai has yet to debut since the summer move from Kawasaki Frontale; his training resumption has been delayed.
Ben Davies is Part of the defensive injury pile-up; no recent positive updates.

Conclusions

The reality of Thomas Frank’s situation is that he needs better players, and he needs a greater sense of continuity. Fans need to stop shouting at a man with no choice and no routine. Tottenham, at full strength, don’t have a squad, but what we have now is a bit of a mess.
