Fabrizio Romano shares update on Tottenham’s managerial hunt – says Levy is yet to communicate decision with 53-year-old

Antonio Conte’s future as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain as the club’s hierarchy continues to look for potential replacements.

The Italian manager took over from Nuno Espirito Santo mid-season and led the team to a top-four finish last year.

However, Spurs have struggled for consistency this season, and their chances of winning a trophy have already been dashed.

Conte’s outburst after the recent draw against Southampton has increased speculation that he could be sacked before the end of his contract.

The Italian was critical of his players, and he also aimed jibes at the club’s owners.

This has led to rumors that the players are upset with him questioning their commitment to the club and because of the manager’s behavior the Spurs hierarchy could potentially sack him.

According to leading transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have drawn up a list of potential successors, but Levy is yet to communicate the final decision to Conte.

Romano also mentioned Thomas Tuchel as a manager that Tottenham appreciates, but he also noted that hiring the Chelsea boss could be complicated. Luis Enrique has also been mentioned as a potential replacement.

In his exclusive for Caughtoffside Substack, he said:

“Talking of Spurs’ manager options, Thomas Tuchel for sure is one of the managers they appreciate but it’s understood to be a complicated option, together with all the other names that have been reported but I would like to also add Luis Enrique to that list.

A decision has not been made at this stage. We have to wait; also because Antonio Conte has still not received any final communication from Daniel Levy.”

If Spurs decide to sack Conte, Ryan Mason is the favorite to take over as an interim manager until the end of the season.

The former Tottenham midfielder has previously taken charge of the team in April 2021 after Jose Mourinho was sacked.
