Fabrizio Romano names manager who is ‘favourite’ to take the Spurs job

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to the reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Julian Nagelsmann is the favorite to become Tottenham Hotspur’s next permanent manager.

However, if Spurs fail to secure the services of the former Bayern Munich boss, they will reportedly turn their attention to Luis Enrique, the former Spain national team manager.

Romano has also claimed that Chelsea are also interested in Luis Enrique, who is said to be keen on taking over at Stamford Bridge.

Discussing Spurs’ managerial situation on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano said:

“Luis Enrique and Nagelsmann are the two frontrunners at the moment, Nagelsmann is the favourite, Enrique is in second place from what I understand.

“Nagelsmann is keen on speaking with Chelsea in the next days and weeks.

“Luis Enrique is the same, he would also love to be in the Premier League as the next step in his career, he would be really happy to take the Chelsea job.”

Both managers are reportedly interested in coaching in the Premier League, with Enrique keen to take the next step in his career.

Currently, Spurs are still without a permanent manager after the sacking of Antonio Conte.

Cristian Stellini has been appointed as the interim manager, and the team has recorded one win and one draw in the two games he has been in charge.

Despite their inconsistent form this season, Spurs still have a chance to finish in the top four and secure Champions League football for next season.

Newcastle and Manchester United are currently ahead of Spurs in the table, with a game in hand, and Spurs cannot afford to drop any more points if they hope to keep the hopes of finishing top 4 alive.

It remains to be seen who Spurs will ultimately appoint as their next manager, but the rumors surrounding Nagelsmann and Enrique suggest that the club is considering high-profile candidates to lead the team forward.
