Fabrizio Romano gives bad news to Spurs fans ahead of North London derby

Tottenham Hotspur has been dealt a significant setback with the news that Ivan Perisic has suffered a long-term injury.

The Croatian winger has sustained a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee during training, requiring surgery.

The club confirmed the unfortunate news via their official X account, expressing their support for the experienced Croatia international.

Perisic is set to undergo surgery to address the injury.

They posted:

“We can confirm that Ivan Perisic has suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee.”

“The experienced Croatia international sustained the injury in non-contact training and will undergo surgery.

Wishing you well in your recovery, Ivan.”

According to updates from reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Perisic is expected to be sidelined for an extended period, likely missing 5 to 6 months of football.

This timeline implies that he may aim for a return to the team in March or April 2024

He posted:

Ivan Perisić has torn his ACL — he will miss the next 5/6 months as Tottenham confirm.

Perisić, fantastic professional who’ll now work hard to be back and help Spurs in March/April… then Euro2024 with Croatia, feeling he can do it.

Wishing him speedy recovery!

Ivan Perisic has been a standout player under the management of Ange Postecoglou, making significant contributions, particularly during late-game scenarios.

His experience, versatility and ability to impact matches made him a valuable asset for the team.

In fact, the Croatian made a big impact against Sheffield United where he assisted one goal and played a hand in setting up the winner to complete the stunning comeback on Saturday.
