Fabio Paratici has recommended Tottenham Hotspur to sign the Atalanta midfielder Ederson Dos Santos.
Atalanta stunned Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the Europa League. The Italian outfit ended the German club’s unbeaten run as Ademola Lookman fired home a hat trick to help his team clinch the title. While the Nigerian international was one of the stars of the night, Ederson’s work in the centre of the park didn’t go unnoticed.
His performance in the final was another reminder of the kind of talent he possesses. His work throughout the season has already put him on the wishlist of top clubs and according to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham’s former managing director Fabio Paratici has urged the club to sign the Brazilian midfielder.
Ederson has gone from strength to strength over the years. His ability to regain possession, to keep hold of the ball and his physical presence in the centre of the park is what makes him a special talent. With Tottenham all set to part ways with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the 24-year-old could come in as an ideal replacement.
The Atalanta midfielder is versatile and can be used in any role in midfield which will be an added boost for Ange Postecoglou. Tottenham have scouted the Brazilian midfielder and with Paratici recommending his signing, the club could end up making a move for him.
But, they won’t find it easy to sign the 24-year-old as the Italian outfit are not obliged to sell and his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. With Teun Koopmeiners’s future at Atalanta already uncertain, the departure of Ederson seems very unlikely. They will not want to sell two key players in one window.
Interested clubs will have to offer around £50 million for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team to even consider letting him leave.
