“Every boy’s dream” – Steven Bergwijn on scoring extra-time goals over Leicester City

By Eddie Razo -

There was some late-night heroics at King Power Stadium, with Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn putting on the hero cape. The 24-year-old scored the game-tying and game-winning goal all in extra time.

Spurs are fighting for a top-four spot and need to rack up three points to keep track with West Ham United, Arsenal, and Manchester United. As a result, Bergwijn’s late goals help Tottenham secure the three points in a 3-2 victory over Leicester City.

“It is fantastic. The fans had a fantastic day. I scored two goals. I am happy. The manager told me to score goals, make difficulties for the defenders, and stay close to Harry Kane,” Bergwijn said, per ESPN

“This is every boy’s dream to turn around a game like this. It was a massive game, and we have a lot of games in hand; now we need to work and take on each game.”

The late goals by Bergwijn help Tottenham in the standings as they leap over Arsenal. Spurs are now fifth in the standings with 36 points, with The Gunners in six as they have 35 points. The north London club is one point behind West Ham United, which is in fourth place with 37 points.

Meanwhile, Bergwijn has been in the rumor mill over the past couple of weeks as this performance will either have Ajax fork over the money Spurs want for him, or perhaps the Premier League club decides to hold on to the winger.

Simple but effective instruction- stay close to Harry- is one of the things that makes Conte great.

The lad lacked goals previously. Conte obviously has believed he can add this to his game.
anyhow how’s his stats match against Traore?

Two great goals, undoubtedly, which got the rest of his mates out of a hole. I would love nothing more than to see Bergy turn a corner and fulfil his potential. But it’s going to take a damn sight more than one performance to convince me the boy is worth keeping around.
