ENIC Face €100M+ In Fines If They Are Involved In Any Further European Super League Talks

By The Boy -

UEFA has been mopping up the European Super League that never was after-party and issued a bill of some €13million to be shared by the English clubs that tried to escape the existing football family as part of what is being called “reintegration measures”.

Nice work if you can get it.

Furthermore, UEFA plans to deduct 5% of European competition revenues (commencing the 2023-24 season) which a cynic might suggest is timed to catch Spurs the next time they are fit enough to qualify for any foreign competitions.

What is interesting here, is that the BBC says that Spurs have apparently already agreed to UEFA that the owners will pay the fine – opposed to the football club itself.

Just in case anyone has plans to revisit a breakaway league, UEFA are threatening fines of €100m for EACH side that seeks to escape in the future.

Again, like the Chelsea deal to allow fans into the boardroom, this is more bad news for the THST. The more contrition that can be seen to be in existence the more unreasonable the Trust’s demands will appear.

People seem to think ENIC are rinsing THFC😂 nope
They don’t even take a dividend. (Not putting money in not taking money out) Tottenhams figures are out there. Nothing going out to ENIC

Take it out of Levy’s pay packet for the next 2 years.

The clubs actually agreed their own punishment and it’s barely a slap on the wrist.

UEFA for all Ceferin’s big talk and the Premier League can’t afford to fall out with these clubs as they are the ones that drive the TV rights deals.

One thing that might have pushed some of the Premier League clubs is that there is talk that the next TV rights deal which is coming up for negotiation shortly is going to be frozen at the previous level and BT are pulling out of the Champions League coverage.

A freeze is the same as a cut and with their costs rising and debts increasing they have panicked.

Yes, I had no idea that supporting Spurs was contingent to the increasing asset value of Enic’s property empire. Perhaps Joe Lewis should invite the THST to Enic’s AGM and they would be consoled by the ever increasing value of Lewis and Levy’s assets. That might be enough to take their minds off the fact that as a football club, we are a complete shambles, but hey, who cares?

I was under the impression that I was supporting a football club not a property company.

“As a business” is not what we care about. We’re supposed to be a football club and on the pitch is where the results count. The business side should support the ambitions of the football side, but we know ENIC doesn’t see it that way.

As a business Spurs have grown in value since ENIC took over regardless of trophies. Now about 8th in world as opposed to 15th or 20th in 2000. That’s the bottom line in the business world. Levy is ultimately judged on that and managers get judged by trophies. Its quite easy to slip backwards as Newcastle have done.

I believe that the club will just pay the 2 mil over time not even well hidden in the books.
Who will ever be able to check or prove they did or didn’t ?
I for one cant be arsed but i believe they are crooks anyway so dont need to.

So, if I have understood this correctly, the English clubs are being fined a paltry €13 mill, to be paid by the owners, not the football clubs. That is approximately £2 mill to be paid by the owners of each club. By coincidence, that is equivalent to the amount that Levy paid himself as a bonus for going 100% over budget and being one year late in delivery. I am quite sure that our beloved chairman will return his bonus in an act of righteous contrition. After all, CEOs are always judged on their results in the corporate world, aren’t they?
