Emerson’s passing against a third-rate outfit like Newcastle was substandard, even against his own remarkably modest form in this discipline. A 72% accuracy is too low, and his own average at 81.2% still leaves plenty of room for improvement.
Emerson’s duel numbers were useful. The Brazilian achieved a 62% success rate – a welcome bump from his current average of 54.5%.
Royal also made a handy 6 interceptions.
There was this dribble in the final third which was posted a ball into Harry Kane, but as lively as it was, a Toon toe got the better of it.
I don’t rate him. He cannot defend and he hardly helps out the attack. Good footballers are at home on a football field. He looks lost. Newcastle are a very poor team yet he did not stand out. Even Ndom looked like he was better than them.
The biggest achievement this weekend was Tanguy playing 90 minutes even with in effect 2 half times…. Is lo no show watching?
I thought he was our worst player… everytime he ran into space with the ball it went backwards… even when they were down to 10 men…. I’m still yet to see him put in a half decent cross…maybe hes been training too long with Doherty 🤔😏
His English is poor. He’s gotta sort that out. Nothing worse than being in a country and you can’t understand the lingo. I’ve been there
A work in progress, but encouraging signs recently. On the plus side, he is tough, physical and athletic, with a fair degree of skill. He was always going to need time to adjust, both to the EPL and to a new country and culture, but he appears to have the physical tools to be successful in the Premier League. He just needs more actual match experience to become further acclimatised to the pace and trickery of the EPL also.
