Dutch media contradicts speculation that Man Utd have beaten Tottenham to international midfielder

Donny van de Beek has emerged as one midfielder that might be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

The Dutchman has been an important member of the Ajax team that has been impressive in Europe over the past few seasons.

They reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in the 2018/19 season and several of his teammates like Frenkie de Jong joined top sides.

Van de Beek remained and has continued to get better but it seems this is the summer that he finally leaves.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the Dutch international.

A recent report claimed that Manchester United was leading Tottenham in the race for his signature (Football365), however, that is being contradicted by reports from the Dutch media.

Journalist Jan-Joost van Gangelen told Voetbal Primeur that he had been in touch with the player’s agent and that the midfielder is more likely to join Tottenham.

If this is true it would be a massive coup for Tottenham.

Spurs have been busy in this transfer window and it seems more signings will still be made.

They have just completed the signing of Matt Doherty and he joins Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart as new players that the club has signed ahead of the new season.

Presumably a tempting cheaper option than Grealish valued at around the £75m mark?
