‘Don José’ & ‘good riddance’ Some Spurs Fans Applaud This Particular Mourinho Move

By Ron Carne -

José Mourinho will reportedly look to axe Kyle Walker-Peters on a permanent basis this summer after shipping him out on loan to Southampton in January.

As noted by the Saints’ official site, the 22-year-old was slightly critical of the Spurs boss for not getting more of a chance after he replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November.

According to Football Insider, that hasn’t gone down well and could now contribute to the decision of Walker-Peters being offloaded permanently in the summer if a deal can be done.

After coming through the youth ranks at Tottenham, Walker-Peters made 24 appearances for the senior side before joining Southampton, where he has featured just once to date.

It’s suggested via the report above that he could be searching for a new club ahead of next season, and the touted decision from Mourinho to move him on has been met with a positive reaction from the fans below.

Whether or not Walker-Peters was sensible in making his comments will be up for debate, but it could now contribute to seeing his time with Tottenham come to an end, with Serge Aurier established as the first-choice right-back under Mourinho.

Based on the comments below, it doesn’t appear as though his exit will be met with much disappointment for many Spurs supporters.
