DiMarzio: Spurs Defender Agrees On Destination In Principal

By The Boy -

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back Serge Aurier could finally be on his way out of North London and heading on his way to challenges afresh in Serie A.

Serge Alain Stéphane Aurier has made over 70 Premier League appearances for Spurs, but last season only managed to contribute on 19 occasions as the situation was clouded with the arrival of Matt Doherty from Wolves. Presumably, the thinking is that under Nuno Espírito Santo, the Irish international will press the point further – and hopefully effect better results than was achieved on the last Portuguese at the helm.

I take a view that Aurier has his limitations, but as an attacking wing-back he can frequently be forceful and create welcome transitions from defence to attack that many of our other back line can not.

Spurs have much to iron out before the season starts, indeed before the preseason friendlies get underway, and it remains to be seen quite how much of the significant task will be achieved before the season begins to get underway and points are at stake.

Milan is said to be keen, and Serge on Milan, only Daniel Levy’s asking price of €20million separates a formal agreement.

Many players we need to move on prior to him. Atleast he’s able to contribute something, even if he’s erratic; unlike many of the other players who literally do nothing (Winks, Davis, Dier and last season’s Sissoko).
But if we can move him on, it would be great.

Not many players at tottenham who can defend and attack as good as him. Players like him you need in your squad. Can play him as an outside right. Handy squad baller. He brings joy to training too. Loved by all

Not by me. He is too error prone.

Great, but can they just get it done. This keeping players around that are told to find other clubs can do nothing for morale.

Let’s not cry now over a player we have consistently berated for giving away free-kicks which leads to us conceding.

Good squad player is power serge. Not good enough as first choice right back but he’s a very good squad player. He too will be missed at Hotspur way
