Sadly for Tottenham, Tanguy N’Dombele was forced to leave the field with a discombobulated pinky ankle/foot injury which is currently being assessed by the club’s physios. However, for 64 minutes we got further glimpses of the raw brilliance of Tanguy. The deal with the Frenchman is that he is so damn awkward to play against; there’s the physicality, for sure, but there’s also what I’ve referred previously as the mercury fast speed that this footballing brain processes information and makes decisions. Tanguy has the potential to become a truly exceptional player. Having made his peace with José Mourinho after initial problems over his ‘suitability’ to succeed in the Premier League, this boy could be the next big thing to have hit these shores.
Elsewhere, Tanguy hit pretty respectable numbers during his 64minutes on the green stuff creating 4 chances in open play, plus making 14 passes in the Middle Third, 10 in the attacking third and just the one into the penalty area.
Tanguys not very big at 5ft 11inch
He needs to try and stay on his feet for sure. He was hacked down alot against the baggies though literally because he was too skillful and too fast. At least the lad is really trying now, theres been a huge change in attitude and application.. I still scratch my head whoever decided to pay him 200k a week though, same as Kanes and Salahs wages. Much better this season from the lad anyway hes putting the effort in now.
He might be able to dribble but when a big guy like him keeps falling over when tackled he is just not good enough for Spurs and the Premier League.
He should stand up and be counted like Jack Grealish who is also much smaller.
Mourinho just sort this fairy out ow or get rid of himifhe is not fit or up to playing a mans game
That assist for the Son chance was truly a thing of beauty … a veritable work of art … or … back in the days when attendance was … a) Allowable … and b) Affordable … it was ‘worth the price of admission’ on its own!
In fact, as a lifelong Spurs supporter and witness to several generations of midfielders, I would go so far as to say that Ndombele showed more skill in that one sublime moment, than John Pratt showed in his entire career!
