Despite the rumours, Lloris wants extended Tottenham stay

By Bruce Grove -

Hugo Lloris is set to offer Tottenham a major boost ahead of next season by extending his stay with them.

The French World Cup winner and Spurs’ captain has been one of their most reliable stars since he moved to London from Lyon.

Every manager that has been at the club since he joined has had no doubts that he is the best goalkeeper they have.

His current deal is set to expire after next season, but Football Insider reveals that he wants to commit another season to the club.

He has been linked with a return to France with PSG which would reunite him with his former boss and friend, Mauricio Pochettino.

But the latest report means that Spurs’ fans can have peace of mind over the future of their key player.

Lloris has had an inconsistent few years like some of his teammates, but he is still considered a top goalkeeper.

The report says he held talks with Daniel Levy over his future and made it clear to the Spurs supremo that he plans to remain at the club into the future.

The club doesn’t want to lose his influence in the dressing room and he would likely be given a new deal soon.

He definitely had a lull for a few seasons. He was still good though. But he’s been top draw this season and last. I have read some utter nonsense about him being below par. I just don’t understand it.

Aye he’s been great for us since 2012 when he arrived. A rare loyal world class player who has stuck with us through thick and thin.

If this is true it is great news. He’s been great for the last 18 months.

Offer him a 2 year extension, would help transition plus prioritising other transfers
